UK postal system is based entirely on size within the country.

If it's "big" it costs more.

Damn I love Royal Mail.

Ok, so we're sending around a MicroSD/USB Stick, and on it goes... Pics? With said large hammer? What if we also throw in a photoshop file, make it huge (like 20k px by 20k px) and everyone who is able can throw their signature, a pic, doodle, annotation, whatever on it!

Just as a heads up, not everyone has a MicroSD reader, but most people with a computer have a USB port. Definitely have one of each (MicroSD for pics, and the USB for other things, or for people without a SD reader).

And who said they lived in North Carolina? I'm vacationing there right now xD

Sounds like a damned good idea.
I'm highly paranoid about giving out any personal information to anyone, so consider me maybe in.

I live in Durham during the summer and go to university in Chapel Hill the rest of the year (my apartment is in CH). Where do you vacation?

Also please change me to "May participate" as I'm not sure what my deal is going to be by the time this gets going.

stuff and stuff, I'd love to participate but I don't know what'll be going on in the next few months or where I'll be staying. To prevent myself from screwing everything up I don't think I'll be participating :(

Well If memory serves me correctly, the way it was supposed to go last time around was for one person to get everyone's address, and only give it out to the person who is to be sending the package to said address. So each of us only get one address. That could cut down on the paranoid issues about strangers having your address.

I'll keep you under "May participate", and then you can give me your final answer when we know the complete itinerary.

I'm in!
Info removed

EDIT:

I may even know another guy living close to me who may also with to participate.

Also:

How does the plan look at present? Judging from a swift read-through P1 starts a map, saves it on a USB stick, buy an inflatable hammer (lol), takes a picture of himself with the hammer at a key location in his hometown, saves the picture on the USB pen with the map, sends the USB pen and the hammer to P2 - and then PX received the USB pen and the hammer, does what P1 did except continuing the original map rather than creating a new one, and sends the USB pen to PY. Correct? Anything else?

Fine by me. I do wish though, that we should try to keep this as strictly "Interlopers" as we can. Like, if he's on the photo together with you, that's okay, but don't have one photo of you in front of something, and one photo of your friend in front of something else. This should apply to everyone, but feel free to discuss it if you disagree.

You're pretty much right, except for the map idea. Did we ever agree on that? I remember someone said it, but I don't think anyone clearly said they liked it. But hey, I don't remember what I ate for dinner yesterday, so don't ask me. I just don't see the point. A map could just as easily be uploaded here for everyone to edit, you don't have to send it around the world on a USB stick.

But to sum it up for those who hasn't been paying attention, the plan goes like this:
Person 1 takes a picture of himself with the hammer, uploads it to the USB stick, and sends the hammer and the USB stick in an envelope to Person 2. Person 2 repeats the process, and sends the whole thing to Person 3. It goes on and on like this, until it reaches the last person on the list, Person X. Person X will also take a picture of himself and all that, before sending the whole package back to Person 1 (as it's his hammer and USB stick). Person 1 then uploads the images here, to our delight.

About the hammer, and I've said this before, but I guess I just like repeating myself: At the end of August, there's a big fair here where I live, where those hammers can be won easily. I can win one there, and use it in this project. This means that I will be Person 1 in the plan described above. I also have a 2 GB USB stick, so that won't be a problem. If I'm to start, the itinerary will go something like this:
Me - Rest of Norway - Denmark - Netherlands - Belgium - UK - US east coast - US west coast - Taiwan - Middle East - Me again.
Or, of it turns out to be cheaper, we can send it through Asia first, then over to the States, then back to Europe. This we will have to figure out when it's time to really start working on the itinerary, IE sometime after I've won the inflatable hammer. Does this sound like a good idea to everyone?
