Vote for my Pepsi Refresh Project!

Postby kkirspel on Mon Nov 01, 2010 9:13 pm

Hello fellow modders, please vote for an awesome project in the Pepsi Refresh Contest made by the senior class of the Columbus State University Servant Leadership Program.
I'm part of this program and would really appreciate it if you guys would vote online and through text every day in this month (November).
The website goes into detail about the project. but I'll go into detail about it myself - we're raising money to build a playground thats designed for children with disablilties. It'll be wheelchair accessable and will have equipment for sensory functions which is usable to children with various conditions.

There are 3 ways to vote (do each one as a separate vote):

1.Here is the link to vote online:
http://www.refresheverything.com/insanelycoolplayground
Vote with every email account you have each day this month! (an account will need to set up the first time for each email)

2. Text:
104092 to 73774 (PEPSI) to vote again!

3. Vote on Facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/permalink.phpst ... 3136462520
Hit the 'Go to Application' button under the main picture and install the application (only needs installing once).

Thank you all, kkirspel :smt023

//will update this part daily
Currently ranked: #30 out of the 1137 projects for this month. (we were at #25 to start off  GO VOTE! :x )
We need to be either #1 or #2 to receive the grant money.

We also have a Facebook event for this also; check it out. Just search "Vote for CSU Servant Leadership project by Texting 104092 to 73774"... I believe we all should know have to use Facebook though.

It just takes a few minutes to vote guys/girls, you're here on the computer already right...? :smt045
Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks again, kkirspel

Meh. I hate voting.

Also, as an early warning, don't repeatably bump old threads even if you made them, unless there's a very, VERY good reason. (I know this isn't exactly old but please, do not repeatably bump this, if noone responds then most likely noone cares. Please don't take this offensively, it's just how Interlopers works sometimes.)

Do you like texting? Because you can text your vote!
Or maybe is Facebook your thing? You can submit your vote there too!

I take no offense to no one responding; I'm bumping it so people simply continue to see it, thereby spreading awareness and hopefully support.

I find this to be a very, VERY good reason.

EDIT: Our project is ranked #24 out of 1000. Please vote daily for our project, I (and the greater Columbus community) would appreciate it.

What I mean is, "very, VERY good reason" can only be two things:

1. You have a source-related question to ask, relevent to the bumped subject.

2. If a mod/map thread, you constantly post mod/map-related content, updates or info.

Most follow this rule (or something similar), which is one of the reasons Interlopers seems to be slow to respond.

Well anyway, good luck I guess...

This, indeed, is in the General Discussion section, not the Hammer Editor Help section or the Showcase section, there for your rule should apply here to "general" very, VERY good reasons, and not Source-related reasons.

But thank you and I hope you do vote :) We need all the help we can get.

Perhaps you should ask for people in your area to help, rather than random people on the internet. The vast majority of us have no stake in your success or failure. Looking at the other voting options, there're a lot of people just as deserving of our votes.

Thanks Ad, and I realize many people here won't give a second to this, but if I can get just one it'll be worth it.

And trust me, everyone at my university is getting spammed fliers and emails and my facebook friends are sure to block me soon :-D
Also, I know some people that know some people that do the local news for some people and so we're trying to get the word around that way too.

I posted here under the concept of "pay it forward" (instead of "pay it back"). It breaks down to helping someone and they help someone else, rather than expecting repayment and that be the end of the chain.

(As a side note, Pay It Forward is also a rather decent film that does a good job at displaying the said concept.)

And while you could instead use your votes on different projects, I'd hope you'd limit them to projects in other categories that aren't running against us, like I'm doing (Cedar Way Elementary for the win!)

We could really use your votes everyone; we've dropped to #29.
As long as we stay in the top 100, we get into the next month's contest btw... so we're not out yet!

Your starting to resemble the spam bots that post random threads every now and then about selling electronics. Constantly reminding us every few days makes me not want to vote for you. Hopefully I don't sound like an asshole.

Hey I understand how you feel, and if it really makes you not want to vote, so be it... but hopefully seeing this will get some people to vote which is all I ask.
I mean... It's free. It's for a good cause. It takes only a few minutes, and you have time; you're already on the internet.
If you still don't want to vote for it, simply ignore this thread, b/c its not harming you and there's not much else I can do to get you to vote for our project.
I was just hopeful that Interlopers would support us. Maybe it was wrong to think that... [/sincere guilt trip]

*bump*
We've been bouncing between rank 29 and 30 lately; we could use the votes!
IF we don't win this month, we get put into next month which I then continue to annoy everyone for another month to use a minute of their time to go vote! So let us win this month and be done with it!
