Sad.

It's too bad this likely won't change the company's view.

I've only been informed about this about 500 times on Twitter.

Well at least it was worth to make me take a look at who he was. I´ve heard that name quite a few times but never gave a damn until today. RIP.

A student at my work told me yesterday and the look on his face was as if it was his dad. He said he was going to go home and cry. Now don't get me wrong, he did a lot for Apple and helped put a lot of cool things on the market, but his death means nothing to me beyond feeling sad for friends and family.

What about the rest of the Apple Company? Why are they not getting any credit?

Shit man, they made the first computer, first GUI, first tablet(ipad) and the first phone(iPhone).

Nah, but they did do some cool things. But I do agree with Mayhem, I do not care about his death anymore then some stranger's.

The rest of the Apple company did not die, and I am not taking away from their hard work. But Jobs was the face of their company and people associate the success and ingenuity of Apple with Steve Jobs.

All that aside, people die every day and while he was in the spotlight, it is ridiculous that people follow stuff like this and are so effected by it. The fact that we as a society morns the death of Steve Jobs more than we do a child who dies, or a Mother, or Father, or Soldier, or any every day person shows how skewed our world is. His financial and business success gives him value over those who have not had such success or have yet to even have a chance at success. I respect his achievements, but he is no more important than any other person. He was just a man who put his turtle neck on one sleeve at a time just like the rest of us. People need to stop looking at celebrities as gods. If they admire them so much, they should aspire to attain that kind of success. Hard work will get you there, while waiting for someone else to do it will get you nowhere.

I have the same kind of reaction to celebrity weddings and stuff like that. I have more important things going on in my life.
