GDC 2012

Postby Kremator on Thu Jan 26, 2012 10:22 pm

Man I haven't posted here in ages lol - anyone going this year? I'll be hosting Dr. Delta, MrTwoVideoCards, Zipfinator, 1/4 Life, and possibly Mr.Happy. I'm pretty much full in terms of lodgings but will be happy to meet up with any lopers like last year!

Ah man, it would be so awesome to go. But I have no job, so no ticket or ride. Have fun guys, I'll at least be able to watch videos of the event.

Wonder if I could walk 2,931 miles...

If tickets didn't amount to about $850 and a decent pass about $600, it would be a massive yes. But on account of other expenses and with nowhere to stay, it's going to have to be in a few years.

That's £900 to me.

I live on the East coast but if I had the spare cash and the right amount of time I could easily fly to Cali. The Indie Games Summit pass seems like a decent value. To be honest, the good passes are just way too damn expensive. $2,100 on-site for full access? Ridiculous...

I guess they have to fund it somehow though.

I'd definitely love to go this year, too.

There will be a $75 student-access pass on Friday on sale, but those are kinda gay because you'll be fighting with a giant crowd of students so something to keep in mind. I would recommend expo pass to anyone with the money.

Er, this is a sort of scammy sounding post, but I have three audio passes for sale. And they're cheaper than the expo pass, since there was a misquote from the group sales manager and we ended up getting the passes for $150 each instead of $600 in our group purchase. We can't get a refund as their policy states that the refunds are the pass price minus $150, and since our passes were $150, there's no point.

So we're trying to cover our losses and selling these audio passes for $150 each. We have the proof of payment emails from the GDC and we're getting really desperate and trying to appeal to those who were planning on buying the $250 expo pass or the $75 student pass. You get access to all the parties and the awards show, as well as audio tracks from key conferences.

Please message me if you're interested!! My email is milkyciocco @ yahoo . com and we can submit the forms for name changes on the passes right away!!

I take a frying pan, hit myself over the head, take a picture of myself looking left, keep the same pose, take a picture of myself looking right, merge the two pictures into one, and bam. The frying pan bit is crucial.
