I'm leaving Ubisoft in 2 months to become a full time poor indie developer.

I've been MIA for a long while. Have not been gaming much and not mapping at all. However I did get married two weeks ago...

Had a cool Python teacher in school. I graduated and he got me a tech art position interview at Sledgehammer, but I didn't get it. Then he helped me get a QA job here and 5 months later one of their tech artists quit so they needed a new one. People who interviewed me remembered, and offered me the job, elevating me out of the bottomless pit that is QA. It's been really great so far and I'm really lucky to be where I am and work with the people I work with every day.

I went to Gamescom yesterday. Just checking out all the halls, the witcher 3 and alien isolation were the games I would love to check out, but the waiting lines were insane. You must prepare to stand in line for 3 hours minimum to have a shot at playing one of the many games for just 15 minutes. I have walked past the division stand.

The goodie giveaway of wargaming was insane. They threw away graphic cards and xbox 360's. People went mental on that shit to catch it.

The waiting lines were insane indeed, couldn't bring up enough motivation for any of the present games to spend three hours in line either. Had some doubts at The Division stand, but decided to pass it, since half of our group wasn't that interested.

The beer was good though.

I just started a new career as a Systems Administrator for a software company "Marathon Data Systems". They are small, but I like my job so far and the people I work with.

I still am mapping and modeling though. Currently working on another CSGO map, finished layout and gameplay testing. Working on models and textures now for it. Working around 50-55 hours a week, sometimes its hard to find time to work on 3d art. Eagerly anticipating the new source engine release.
