At first:

Hello interlopers community!
I am glad that I found you with those great tutorials about a lot of things I've got to learn.
I am also really sorry that I can't give you something back, yet. I started mapping about 3 months ago with some break times between so I don't know as much as you.

Also: if you didn't already notice; english isn't my primary language. It's german. So I am really sorry when I don't always understand you, or vice versa

So this is my question about a problem which bothers me today.

I am building a couple of Half-Life 2 EP2 maps and it's really fun.

Highlight to read:
The last one is called "TheCombineShip", it's after you left "TheCanals" and directly after that you are standing in a small alley in front of a house.


The map has no shadows at all. And that's the problem.
It's in preprepre-alpha, I think. So I made a brush around everything I built yet and made it hollow (like I do it everytime).
Then I textured the inside of it with the 3d toolssky texture.

I also added a sun, brightness at 200.

All complicated brushes are func_details. Only straight edged brushes belong uhm... "toWorld".

Normally the map should have some shadows inside of the house I built but there aren't any.

I'll post you the compile log (no errors found with the interlopers tool!)

try entering 'mat_fullbright 0' in the ingame console

Yeah, if you load a map in game that is full bright(no lighting information), then reload the same or another map with lighting, it will stay full bright. For future reference.
