There better be a floating castle. Or some sort of floating island. Or city....
Or just floating anything!
Contact. The EU welcomes the pain free. That's emotional impact. I actually think limitation is good for creativity. If we had an engine that could do everything, we would be in trouble. It gives us focus. ~~ Randy Lundeen
Aw man I already did a floating city in UDK. Well, seeing as we'll likely reach 80,000 you will get to pitch that idea to us and we'll make a vote by the public ;O
Giant shroom forest eh...well I can't say much but certain events evoked the idea of a forest...I was thinking of pitching it to my boss...you'll see Damn NDA, can't spill the beans @_@
Just to make it clear, the huge stretch goal isn't all for him, rather it's to make the game even better. He's offered to help us with a special single song.
Oh awesome, Mr Kirkhope himself! Got a guy here at Ubisoft that worked with him back in the day at Rare, only hear good things about him, he sure has a legacy of great vidya game tunes.
Also, someone made an interesting post on that Youtube video about Hatkid being a silent protagonist. I'm not sure how you guys are planning on having Hatkid interact with other characters. If you were originally going to have text dialog similar to Banjo Kazooie where pretty much every character talks, then obviously you would have to get a voice actress for Hatkid.
But do you guys intend to go the silent protagonist route, like Link in the Zelda games? Zelda games have always used text dialog with random vocal expletives to emulate mood from characters, but Link NEVER talks back. If a character asks him a question (like asking for his name), there's simply a brief pause in the scene and the character responds with his apparent answer.
Just my opinion, but giving her a voice would be awesome. And Cristina Ulloa would be perfect for her I think. She did the voices for Annie, Nunu, and Amumu from League of Legends. Her voice is maximum overcute.
Hey guys, new update. We have only 8 days left till our kickstarter ends and a lot has happened since I last updated you. First of all check out this recording of Awesome Video Games playing our prototype which we built with a 0 dollar budget in our free time.
We also took it to a Student Gaming bar as seen here:
These are the winning t shirts that the backers will receive!
and the badges:
As also added more stretch goals:
Showed off the Banjo styled mumbling:
We explained the Wii U situation and the attention we've received from publishers.
We're in the final 57 hours! We met all the stretch goals and raised a massive $200,000. From now till the end, every 15,000 will add a new Grant Kirkhope song to the game.
And if you want to see more of the game including challenge levels inspired by Mario Sunshine then go here and watch this 3 hour stream by a well reknowned speedrunner, CosmoWright. He really pushes himself to beat that ghost hehe.
