Algebra stuff.

Postby DoxC on Sun Mar 23, 2014 5:07 am

I know this isn't the place to be asking about algebra but ill ask anyway.

Find the value of m so that only one value of x satisfies the equation:
4x^2 – 8x + m = 0

how i do dis?
:?

all ive done is divide the whole equation by 4 to get
x^2 - 4x + m/4 = 0

look at the quadratic formula. the only way you can have it so that you get one solution is if sqrt(b^2 - 4ac) = 0, that is b^2-4ac = 0. hope this helps
