Basic Terrain Creation

Ok, here's a question:
I made a map using displacement terrain to create a hillside. Looks good in Hammer, no errors found, compiling goes smooth... However, when I try to runthe map... I get this error:

MaterialSystem_Interface_t::AllocateLightmap::lightmap (516x66) too big to fit in page (512x256)

And then an error saying HL2 has crashed. I tried adjusting the Lightmapscale. Doesn't work... I'm going nuts here, can someone PLEASE HELP ME?? :shock: :shock: :shock: :cry:

don't use a big disp brush break em up into portions.
Barely working on (I'm still very busy with real life):

i think this tut should be moved into the easy section becasue this is essentially displacement in its absolute basic form

Do you have an env_sun in your map? Even if you don't, try placing an info_target in there and see what happens.

sorry but I can't believe this is in the advanced tutorial section. Basically it just says - create a displacement and raise or lower the vertexes to make the shape you want.

Come to think of it - what I wrote above actually says more about creating terrain than this tutorial.
