PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME!!! whenever I look away from the entity the entire effect dissapears! Is there a way to make it slowly fade instead? It looks really stupid when the entity goes offscreen and the whole effect dissapears when I should still be able to see it. Oh, and btw it could be useful to use black for making a black hole or something similiar - use your imagination!

I dont like this entity. It gets more intense in brightness as you move away and when you get close it gets weaker, and i tried to reverse the min. and max. distance to see if i could reverse it and it didn't. Then I tryed to use one as a sunset, and it only shows up if you can see the actual entity. So if its a really big glow and you have a small wall in front of it, depending on if the actual entity is in view the entire glow will flicker on and off.

Well what entity would you suggest as a replacement? prefferably something that doesn't flicker or dissapear when I should still be able to see it :?

Hi all.
First post! =)

Would like to check, is there anyway to "forbid" rotation of the GFX.

ie.

When you place a rectangular env_glow an a rectangular lightmodel
and walk around it. The glow contiussly rotates acording to the player.

! =)

Only thing I can suggest is that you use eng_lightglows with the 'only visible from front' flag checked, and then position two entities (with vertical height 20, horizontal height 80) each one facing out from a different side of the striplight.

i believe you can disable rotation for sprites with a hex editor. it worked for hl1, and its the same system, so i dont see why not. try googling for a tutorial

whats wrong with Glow Proxy Geometry Size??
if you leave it as default the wall will block the effect, but if its big enough so the wall cant cover it it should work.
