Upriser gets my vote, i absolutely love the symbolism in that picture, truely amazing.

Mappingwise there were betters, but I find the actual assignment, "identify yourself" to be a lot more than just "map something you like". The first image is bulging with symbolism, which the other maps, though nice looking, lack allmost entirely. Because of that, HypR is a second place for this contents if you ask me, it too has some symbolism i like.

Yeah uprisers is probably my favorite after shr3d's. Really liked watcher's too.

I was hoping Mr. E was going to produce some final images, his was really rockin! Screens were a little dark but I was hoping to vote for him.

I want to say I put twenty-thirty hours into my map but I'm not sure. I'm not really sure though. But that includes modeling, photoshopping, vmt-writing, compiling, running around-ing and all other out-of-hammer activities. I'm a slow ass mapper.

p.s. there are around 1000 prop_static's in it, the foliage extends out pretty far and is quite dense so that took awhile. you can run around a good bit without realizing its a diarama.

Fuck, there were some top quality entries here, very difficult to go with anyones. I had to tussle between The Watcher and nub in the end, just for pure originality. Went with nubs as I love that waterfall thing, hard choice though.

Excellent work all, very good battle. And nice one Jest for keeping on top of it.

Mmm, time, probably 8 hours with all the work on making my personal texture with alpha work and screwing with lighting and random stuff. I learned a couple new things, which was quite nice, and I had never really messed with displacements before.

It's really down to whether you use hdr or not nowadays...

I think CC has a better effect, I hate hdr, should be used very lightly or else the lighting just looks fake. BTW bitch bitch bitch nub... hahaha everyone always has an excuse...
