Doesn't look like I'll be finishing mine, just finished lighting now and decided to make the stores realistic, but I got H1N1 last week and lost a weeks worth of work :S

God I wish the 3 vote system was in place. These submissions are some of the best bits of mapping I've ever seen.

Thanks doctor :D! But i have the feeling that corigami is gonna steal this one away from me, unless voters dont count it as an atrium!

Shhh.. but vote for meh just cause.. no not really...

But if we had the three vote system again wouldn't that kinda mess up the vote counts?

Probably, but I just don't want to have to choose.

^ But you will!

;)

3 votes doesn't change a thing since it will give the same results as a regular 1 vote voting round, only with roughly triple the amount of votes.. And a weighted vote (1st => 3 points, 2nd => 2 points, 3rd => 1 points), which would make a huge difference, is not possible at the moment.

Yeah, I don't know why, but it really did bring out some great maps.

^ not to start a discussion in this thread, but I think that every now and then there are calls for abstract themes, but it turns out they are often interpreted literally. Which in turn works very well for a battle of this kind, it seems that for entrants it's easier to start on/work with.

I'm surprised by the number & quality so far myself, but let's wait until the voting round to see how many actual finals are submitted.

I'd say no. Maybe keep one or two of them somewhere. It'd be nice though if you had only the subway tunnel lit like it is in the first one and have it a bit brighter casting some light into the atrium. Also darken up the ambient a bit. It's starting to look like a sunrise/sunset. You could have been going for that though, but I think nighttime would look better.

Also I have a few detailing suggestions for you. It's starting to look like a subway/train station with those seats, so maybe put a few monitors up showing the times of departures/arrivals. Maybe have them glowing a bit also. A kiosk/desk in the middle of the room or on one side would be good too. It'd help the realism of the scene and help fill up the empty floor.

Without lights it looks more atmospheric.

I like the pillar shadows when the lights are in, though.

So I don't know.

I'd be lying if I said I was thoroughly happy with how this turned out, but hell I'm a good sport so I'm submitting these anyway.
