Who would I need to prove that to?

Edit: Also go to any art teacher or anyone with any amount of common sense and ask them if they believe that trying to recreate the masters work is a good way to learn. Recreating this piece will help me learn and it is not like I enter this comp to try and win, I am entering because it seems like a bit of fun and I have always wanted to try and make melting clocks in 3d.

Pretty much anything you make in games (maps, models, textures) is influenced by some reference, form of media, environment etc, so by that logic, pretty much everything we create is unoriginal, unless you have some insane imagination to not use something as inspiration.

There's nothing wrong with recreating a painting as a map. It's been done many times before as both practice and map entries (Escher comes to mind foremost). It's when you recreate a painting and claim you're being original it becomes a problem.
It's quite simple really. I want to be a professional level designer. I want this to be my job.

I think it's supposed to be buildings, look at the bridges, why would they even be there?
