The theme for Battle 48 is:
“Something beneath, behind, or within which a person, animal, or thing is protected from storms, missiles, adverseconditions, etc.; refuge.”
So why shelter?
After watching some post apocalyptic and zombie movies, I noticed shelter was very important. As level designers we focus on the story and design behind shelters in the game world. In Fallout 3, for example, shelters are everywhere: from the top of a cliff to inside sewers and metro stations. By reading notes/writing or seeing objects and their placement we can get a basic idea of what happened in this shelter. Looking through the previous map battles and maps that are in the works it seemed that shelter would be appropriate.
