Interlopers.net Forum - Half-Life 2 News & Tutorials

I don't really know what to call this specifically, so I generalized the title as much as I could.

Basically, say I don't log in before viewing some thread (which I tend to do all the time). I view this thread and decide to make a reply, but I have to login. So I hit reply and it takes me to the login page and I log in, but unfortunately it redirects me to the index page instead of the page where I would type out a reply. Is there like a setting in the User CP that I need to change because every other forum I've been to didn't redirect me all the way back to the index page, and neither did Interlopers up until the last major update it had. It's not a big deal or anything, just a suggestion I had.

when i select login at the top of the page while being in a topic the site gives me a link to the index page,but redirects me to where i was before after a few seconds

I thought this sounded familiar.

Yeah I get that logging in first is a great solution, but sometimes I see a thread that catches my interest on the homepage and I jump right to that before even logging in and then I wanna post a reply but I gotta log in, then it takes me to the index page and I'm like "Ah shit I don't know what topic it was under," so I gotta go back to the homepage and find it again.

One tactic I do have though is to hit the back button to go back to the thread, right after I log in, and then refresh and I'll be logged in and able to post.


Like I said it's not a big deal, but just a suggestion.

Auto login. Do it!

I'll look into it. I've never noticed as I always keep myself logged in.

I have firefox remove my cookies upon closing it. I like for things to be as tidy as possible. :0

Me nor Blink did anything to the core functions of the forum. Its phpbb's fault.

why dont you auto-login? much easier!

OMG IS THAT ANOTHER SACUL TO FRAKLE?

Ehh, all I'd want from the login is OpenID or HTTPS so I can feel secure when using open wireless.

This is really annoying bug tbh. I never log out of interlopers.. yet from time to time it ask me to login back and I lose the thread page and return to index page. Even the worst forums have this feature properly working, come on.

I agree with nub on this, because I have a terrible and unreliable internet connection I have to login a lot and it bugs me that it doesn't take you to the page you were on when you logged in.

Oh just realised this is a necro...well I still agree with nub and trcc.

I had to login and then hit back twice to get back to the thread I was viewing, which was this one. You shouldn't have to do that in a forum I feel. I usually browse the forums but don't log in until I actually want to start posting.
