My HL2:EP2 mod suddenly doesn't launch correctly!

Any aspects of level design for the Source engine.

My HL2:EP2 mod suddenly doesn't launch correctly!

Thank god I had it backed up. Here is the error I'm getting - "Can't find background image materials/console/startup_loading.vtf"

I just get a white screen on launch and then it crashes with that error. I tried changing the name of my blurry background image to that but once I did it just gave me this error instead - "Could not load library client". I swear I made no changes to my configuration and I even restored my mod from my backup. Goddamn you, Steam. What is going on?

Try running verification of your game's cache. It'll be under properties/local files for you selected game.

Just sounds like a missing material, so if it is that should get it back and make sure all your stuff is in order.

EDIT: Oh hell, didn't see the mod bit in your title. Try the verification but also re-installing the mod if that doesn't work.

Make sure your HL2 games are in VPK format (should be the case by now)

Use the new gameinfo.txt format https://github.com/ValveSoftware/source ... meinfo.txt
