Sounds like something isn't configured properly.

Could you paste the specific errors?

As soon as a map is loaded, it says this:

Missing material 'editor/wireframe'. Go to Tools | Options | Game Configurations and verify that your game directory is correct.

When I say OK, it says this:

Model models/editor/spot.mdl not found and models/error.mdl couldn't be loaded

Then Hammer closes after clicking OK.

Are you starting hammer editor the correct way? (Bin/hammer.exe) and not the wrong way (using source sdk)?

What do you do about this error?

CStaticProp::Init: Map error, static_prop with bogus SOLID_ flag (3)! (then a random prop dir)

EDIT:
I figured out how to fix this error. Never mind. But does anyone know how to fix the config error so I can edit with Missing Info?

Make a func_tanktrain, place the player on it, parent the player to it with the input parent !player (will show up as red but will work ingame). Then just parent a point_viewcontrol to the func_tanktrain and enable it.

Is there a way to allow the player to still look around but be frozen when on the tanktrain?

Create your platform, place the info_teleport_destination on it, create walls and a roof with the invisible texture on the platform, now your player can't move around or jump away from it. For added bonus, parent the player to the platform after being teleported to it, to prevent any stuttering movement.

Optional 1: Replace the info_teleport with a info_player_start if it's for the start of the level.
Optional 2: Use [url="https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Game_ui"]Game_UI[/url] to prevent the player from crouching.

Alright sounds good. I think what I may do is put a info teleport destination for body reference and build the walls around that, because the main thing I didn't like was how when I would get "parented" to the tanktrain I would boost forward really quick. Whenever I would walk forward the tanktrain would move extra fast. And maybe I'll add a func_brush behind me that will toggle on when I step on the tanktrain, to keep me from moving back.
