CS:GO map export to .obj

Postby Wozner on Wed Sep 28, 2016 10:41 am

Hey guys,

I have some interesting question, since Nem`s crafty software is no longer supported, or Nem is not interested in doing it, Crafty application cannot export map from Cs:GO to .obj. Simple Cs:GO .bsp maps cannot be opened by crafty, so what I
did?

- Converted .bsp map to .vmf
- Opened vmf map in Hammer and re-saved it (this is important step, without re-saving in Hammer, Crafty won`t open that vmf)
- Copied all content from CS:GO to CS: Source folder (Crafty won`t let me choose CS:go in profile)
- Opened CS:GO re-saved .vmf in Crafty, and I`m able to see all brushes, textures and models

But when I export to .obj map, I am able to export only brushes, models are not being exported.

What is solution to export CS:GO map to .obj format guys?

Thank you in advance

crafty can't convert maps to .obj with their models unless it's in .bsp format. try compiling your map on cs source and then exporting the compiled bsp to .obj.

well it looks like crafty doesn't support csgo's bsp files. it can't even open bsp files that are compiled after the steampipe update. best i can think of is wallworm.
