Look at Amnesia; great sound, great lighting and a great sense of tension. The fact that you won't encounter an enemy for at least a half hour is pretty cool.

Valve are looking into ways of detecting stress levels of players with other things like eye motion tracking etc. read here:

This type of thing could be very useful for Amnesia where insanity level plays a large role.

hehehe not insane then, but how scared a player is, detecting the players heart rate and sweat levels etc.
