At this stage I very much doubt an ep 3, It seems more likely it will just be part of hl3.

Will Barney make a return in EP3? We haven't seen him since EP1.

Gabe has specifically stated that the episodes form HL3, just because its called EP3 does not mean it can't be a full game.

Gordon Freeman builds a time machine to go back and save Eli, but accidentally ends up trapped in 1955.

where he finds a strange man called the doctor, who uses his blue police box to help him get back to his time.

He goes back in time and fixes the black mesa incident and then goes back to the future and find that Aperture Science has taken over the world.

Then he has to use an old Delorean to get back to the past from the future and stop himself from fixing the past which really wasn't broken...
