New £1000 build, need feedback.

Figured it was time to get a new machine, what I'm thinking:

CPU Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor £167.99 @ Novatech http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/comp ... n=products

FAN Cooler Master RR-V6GT-22PK-R1 93.7 CFM CPU Cooler £33.08 @ Scan http://www.scan.co.uk/products/coolerma ... 156-1366-a

MB ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 Intel Z68 £115.99 @ Novatech http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/comp ... n=products

RAM G-Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz RipjawsX CL7 £79.66 @ Ebuyer http://www.ebuyer.com/274059-g-skill-8g ... cl7d-8gbxh

GFX Gigabyte ATI Radeon 7970 HD 925MHz 3GB £439.99 @ Dabs http://www.dabs.com/products/gigabyte-a ... ntent=TB00

PSU Corsair 750W ATX12V / EPS12V £115.12 @ Ebuyer http://www.ebuyer.com/164950-corsair-75 ... su-750hxuk

Case Corsair Carbide 500R Black Case £85.20 @ Ebuyer http://www.ebuyer.com/276071-corsair-ca ... m=products

TOTAL: £1037.03

Tempted to wait for a non-reference 7970 to hit the UK market, but I have no idea how long that wait will be.

Seems like pretty good machine.

I'd personally get a somewhat cheaper gpu though since I usually like a card with the best price/power ratio, but that's just because I like upgrading every few years.

I'll just leave this here: http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc
Other than that it's a solid build. If you don't already have one I would recommend picking up an SSD for your OS

Change my mind on the ram and will go for Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 (£36). And a cheaper PSU.

What do you want this machine too do? Looking like a good budget machine... I went a bit crazy with mine and bought really good stuff... :jingle: Stick with the Intel chips they rock! I upgraded from a Intel duo 2 core too a i7 2600k and it's AMAZING how fast it is...

I don´t know why all you guys want so fast machines. I have an old Pentium Dual Core but i developed the ability of slowing down my mind till the point where my computer seems to break the sound barrier.

Um compile a map in Unreal with a dual core and wait an hour/hours compared too an i7 done in minutes... and I'm not exaggerating... :jingle: If you're NOT rendering shit or compiling stuff yeah you won't care a whole lot but once you feel the speed you won't want too go back... Time in money...

Yeah it was a joke, my rig is indeed a dual core, but a fast one with good memory and gpu. But yeah everything goes down when i want to compile my maps, which may take from 15 minutes to 3 hours when all the vrad options are maxed. I´d kill a puppy for a core i7.

I'm personally an AMD guy, I'll never buy intel even if they have better things at some points. I personally have a phenom II x6 (six core) 1090t 3.2 ghz. And it suits me so well! But good job on the 7970, I hope to get one soon too! Currently I have a 5770 and it lags out rarely on bf3.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
