Substance Designer 3

Hey, wondering if anyone could tell me if this was any good?

Saw it added on steam and it sorta reminds me of something similar to dDo without requiring Photoshop to run. I don't have the money for Ps at the moment so something like this seems rather inviting.

I'm not too learned regarding texturing models and stuff. It looks pretty spiffy, but I don't know if anything about the software is unique from other stuff out there. Most modelling software allows you to bake normal maps and AO maps anyway. It definitely does some other cool shit though. I'd honestly have to try it for myself to give you an opinion.

This is by no means a replacement for image editing software because you need to feed it with good base texturemaps.
For things like fixing baking errors on normalmaps or creating textures from images or even from scratch, a software like photoshop is still required. Should be a good alternative to dDo though for all those ppl who use other image editing software or older versions of Photoshop.

The setup of the materials reminds me of the UDK material editor and the latest beta of UDK should be able to import the substance designer materials, too.
