New Free EP - 41 minutes of industrial ambience

Postby vasko on Mon Feb 01, 2010 3:00 pm

Hey all, back for my twice-a-year music spam visit!
It's taken a year but it's finally here.
I am imensely proud to present the free to download EP: 'You Have Reached Your Destination'

Collected here are the first birth pangs of the collaboration between Dean Garcia (Curve, SPC ECO, KGC) and Mark Wallbridge (Vasko the Pig, Viejos Hombre de Abejon).

You Have Reached Your Destination delivers huge beats and liquid dub bass mingled together with haunting ambient riffs and massively drugged out swathes of distortion and glitchery.

These tracks should be experienced with no distractions, ideally while you're on elephant tranquilizers and in a floatation tank.

These tunes are fucking immense, and incredibly deep. The sheer amount of skill...it baffles.

And they're for free, where I would happily pay.

Amazing, really amazing. And thanks to creative commons, I can use them in my mod and credit you thoroughly!

Thanks!

Judging by the comments it's some drug-free brain expansion stuff, I will definitely give it a go.

Vasko, you're very talented. Sunloop is very very well done. Reminds me, ironically of the movie Sunshine. It has a lot of the same feeling, and it sounds like almost the distress call in the background. Very soothing and almost sad with the violin in the back. I'm impressed, honestly.

The other ones unfortunately did not reach such a high bar for me. I really dislike voice samples in songs most of the time, totally throws it off. Plan Nine was the second best, just for the slow jam beat to it and it is pretty neat, if not a bit generic though.

But really, I can't stress Sunloop is definitely the best piece in this, and you're really on a good track. Overall all these have good production value, just some of them aren't all the way for me.

Regardless great work, I look forward to more.

EDIT: Seriously, if you didn't get inspiration from Sunshine, then I'm tripping. Tell me you did pl0x.

I think Sunloop sounds a lot like something they could've used in Mass Effect, seriously, it has that awesome space feel to it.

You mean that awesome scifi movie Sunshine? To be quite honest, I thought of that movie as soon as I started listening to Sunloop.
