HLfaceposer and HLMV won't launch.

I'm not sure where to post this since it really doesn't fit under "Hammer Editor Help".

For a while now I've had to deal with this issue: when ever I use the new tools under the bin folder for Half Life 2 or the Source SDK Base 2013 they crash because of this error:

Code: Select all
Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name:   APPCRASH
  Application Name:   hlfaceposer.exe
  Application Version:   0.0.0.0
  Application Timestamp:   51df2f57
  Fault Module Name:   shaderapidx9.dll
  Fault Module Version:   0.0.0.0
  Fault Module Timestamp:   51df2e09
  Exception Code:   c0000005
  Exception Offset:   0000cbc3
  OS Version:   6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
  Locale ID:   1033
  Additional Information 1:   fd00
  Additional Information 2:   ea6f5fe8924aaa756324d57f87834160
  Additional Information 3:   fd00
  Additional Information 4:   ea6f5fe8924aaa756324d57f87834160

I've seen this be an issue with source GAMES before, but never the tools. None of the suggested workarounds apply either. Hammer runs fine though, so this is very strange. Any help would be appreciated.

I very well could be wrong, but try adding "-nop4" as a parameter.

Still doesn't work. I get the same error message. I just put a space after -dxlevel, right? I enter "-dxlevel 8" not "-dxlevel8", right? I also tried 10 and 9 just in case, but those don't work either.
