Don't be too offended by it, who's to say what the city would have in the future?

Besides, this isn't meant to be a factually accurate representation of modern day Shibuya, it's just a made-up futuristic city inspired by Shibuya, I can change the name if need be

Hah actually if you change it to some small town from Japan it would make a lot more sense.
Because it's in the FUTURE so it would have grown HUUUGE in the passed time.

PaulH, you always produce impressive stuff. Great job on the custom content. It's definitely recognizable to me as Shibuya to me, so it might be weird to change the name to something unrecognizable.
I livestream and do hardcore play-by-play analysis of my mapping.

Thanks, and thank you Vivi :) I think i'll change the name to something not related to the area or city it's set in, that way people can make of the setting/location what they will

Also the custom content is done by the Neotokyo team so props go to them

I agree with this, the differences aren't that drastic that you'd even really need a name change. Anyone who understands the limitations of this engine anyway would find it absurd to make all of shibuya station playable anyway, there'd be no fun in that.

Sometimes you have to let reality take a back seat on the roller coaster that is sci-fi / fantasy game design. Just, IMO.

I never actually intended the level to be that grounded in reality, it is a fantasy futurstic setting after all :)

I guess i'll stick with the name then, i do still want to get some factual inaccuracies corrected (yokai if you manage to play the level could you PM me any you find if you don't mind?), and i'll have a look at any actual issues with the level should any more come up.

Japans a rather elevated land mass, so the train system switches between above and below ground.

While I know from experience that shibuya has above ground stations, if my recollection serves correctly there's also subways style systems (which are below ground). The Shibuya station is huge, there's many different railway lines that connect to shibuya, some privately owned and some Toei.

Regardless, many of those types of things could be written into the story pretty easily if need be...

actually from what i remember (it's been a while, i went there in 2007), the shibuya metro station (and from the looks of the underground he posted a screenshot of, that IS the metro) is above ground. i don't remember there being other lines at shibuya (it's a terminal station, at least on the metro).

then again the regional trains have similar underground platforms, but then if one station is above ground, why would they make the rest underground? it's more expensive to organize a digging effort than to create a few stilts.

either way this discussion is moot since he's changing the name. try shinjuku or roppongi maybe (although any inner city location would probably have highways in between tall buildings).

EDIT: i took a closer look at the shots, and maybe something like ikebukuro would fit better to those type of buildings.

Holy keraap that map is very pretty.

I didn't think there were any custom NT maps out. I guess I was wrong. D:

Has this been added to a rotation anywhere? I have NT installed right now . .
