5.470 would mean 5 point 470. "." is not a thousandth separator. In Europe, everywhere but England, "," is a decimal separator (certainly Germany, Belgium, Russia). England uses ".".

I don't know why I am saying this. What a smartass.

Also I got an idea but I don't know how complicated it can be. Actually no, I think I'll pass.

I won't be entering this competition sorry guys.

But all the models look nice and look forward to voting for..... (number of dots doesn't indicate number of letters in the persons name).

I thought that European countries used '.' as a thousandth, millionth, etc separator, and ',' as a decimal place :| Hell, what do I know? I'm American :<

Based on the theme for this challenge, I'd have to say that the overall quality isn't the main factor. It's the symbolism I think.

That's why I find it strange how some people were discouraged after seeing Stoop's entry.

Also, this would have been my entry...if I made it:

I was thinking the same thing, at the very least it's good practice to enter these competitions. (I do think that most of the votes go not towards symbolism, relevance, etc, but to the flashiest entry. If I remember correctly, the winner of the Christmas Map battle had little to nothing to do with the guidelines. They just had a really cool looking scene :P )

I'd say the symbolism is important, but not the main factor. It seems to really depend on the person. As a modeler I always look for complexity, cleanliness, and straight up difficulty when deciding who to vote for. But many people who we're asking to vote couldn't do that, even if they wanted to. So they vote for which they think looks the flashiest, or what they think is the best idea.

When I decide what to model, I generally pick something with lots of parts, cause everyone likes lots of parts :D I also thought about modeling the TF2 briefcase, but there's not really alot to model, just a flattened cube with some buttons.
