Speed Challenge 18 - Intelligence (Vote & Final Images)

Postby RawMeat3000 on Mon Jun 01, 2009 12:01 pm

I'm always amazed that people can make such amazing stuff in just 2 hours. TicTac's telescope, stoop's satellite, MuffinKing's mannequins.

This stuff is awesome.

Let's go judge it!

Oh, and don't forget to drop a suggestion in the suggestion box.

Hmm, a difficult one! All these relate to intelligence but don't quit hit the nail on the head, but of course that's understandable.

I like Stoop's model the most, it's nicely detailed and complete. Tictac's shares a similar idea; tool of intelligence. Wizard's is a nice and simple idea, and a very neat model. RawMeat's is also a very good idea, but harder to pull off as effectively. I really liked MuffinKing's the first time I saw it, mainly because of the pose but also because of the style of the polygons. It's probably the hardest to model and pull off as well, so good work!

Seeing as I can only vote for one, I'm going to vote for Stoop's as I think it's the best compromise between a good model for a speed challenge and an idea relevant to the theme, however all models and ideas are very good :)

Keep up the good work guys.

Great entries! This is a tricky one for me; I can't choose between RawMeat's and stoop's. Both are clean, sharp, and detailed looking models (or "scene" is what I guess you'd call RawMeat's entry). If I could vote twice, I surely would, but when thinking "intelligence," I feel like stoop's is a better match because a cityscape like RawMeat's reminds me more of words like "civilization" and "infrastructure."

Great work to all of you, though!

Woohoo! I got 2 votes :D I'm proud of that, and my only regret is that my Telescope looks like a stack of 'Solo' cups :o

PS: Voted for Muffinking because modeling a person has gotta be hard to do in 2 hours, and it's nice and abstract. It's really 'out of the box'.

It kind of reminds me of the Mirror's Edge main menu.

With a whopping 57% of the votes, and 400% more than the runner up, stoopdapoop has achieved a glorious victory! Congrats man.

Next challenge starts very soon. I'm going to try starting these on Thursday nights more often, to give us three days instead of two.
