This is extremely WIP!

Eventually the car interior will be a custom model along with your npc companion who will be remodeled and animated to turn the steering wheel etc.

The mod takes place during a camping trip where something awful happens and a mystery begins. This footage shows the intro to the mod where you wake up in the back seat of your car while your brother is driving. I am wanting this to look very impressive to the player as well as intriguing and mysterious. I am working on adding a waterfall to the first bend before the bridge as well as a train passing by near the end of the clip.

This drive will end with a fade to black and then the first level will load up at a camp site.

Rip this to shreds 'lopers, I need to up my game.

I think it works and looks really well as is. Thought the interior was a model anyways. That's a cool opening and it fits the Half-Life aesthetic really well. If it is set in the Half-Life universe.

How'd you get the car to move so smoothly? Is it an actual vehicle on a path?

Arma,

The car is just one of those wrecked car models from Half Life. It works well for now but if you look around carefully you can see gaps in the doors. It isn't set in the Half Life universe which is why some custom models and characters will help create a differentiation.

I am also currently working on the soundtrack which will give the mod a unique mood. First song of the soundtrack is recorded and ready to go, let me know what you think. https://soundcloud.com/jonnyshihor/crazy This song is going to be played in a very important scene!

The car model along with the npc and a prisoner pod that the player spawns in are all parented to a tanktrain. I changed the settings of the tanktrain so that the wheels are extremely far apart as it made the turning transitions a lot smoother.

I think the car ride is a good opportunity for me to have credits roll?

Ouch i have a similar scene too :/ Now it´s not gonna be innovative :P^

The ride looks very moody with the distant trees and all. Wouldnt mind too much if the driver was left like that, doesn´t look bad. You could add a body for the player just like Les_grossman´s shot.

Les_grossman, I like how you're making your vehicle out of brushes. With some clever brush work you could make the interior look very detailed!

Gambini, I am sure all of our 'vehicle rides' would be different enough to stay unique! Besides, I'm willing to bet you will release your project first. Mine is a long way off. Is it you that posted a trailer you made for your mod not too long ago? It looked incredible.

The driver will need a few new animations anyway as he is a key character and will be involved in some scripted sequences so I would like to animate him to turn the wheel while I am at it. I was considering adding a body but I feel it will feel awkward when you get out of the car as it will be gone again. More coming in the next few days.

Any idea on what's up with the skybox fog? My fog setting on both the env_fog_controller and the sky_camera is 1000 start 7000 end with a 0.5 max density.
It's most noticeable here

Experimenting with a new exterior-prison idea for my mod.

Was feeling that the exterior was a bit lack luster and didn't build the theme enough. :)
