Great progress Sathor as always, it's nice to see the first batch of textures and models really making the place more vibrant.

You should seriously consider using those skylights in other areas that need more sunlight in them. If you can minimize the number of light entities you use, your map should technically perform better in general, even if it's barely noticeable. Of course, if you're trying to get the Mirrors Edge look, some areas could benefit from interior lighting to make the colors pop. Sunlight is of course good if you want to create that warm feeling that some of the outdoor areas had in Mirrors Edge.

That's CSM so I doubt it has any effect on performance.

@HoliestCows:

The map is already finished in terms of size and exceeds both dust2 and office. It is more comparable in size with de_cbbl, but feels fairly compact since there are almost no small or long corridors.

@schoft, Hollow: Thanks. I will add some smaller details later, like fire extinguishers and security cameras.

@nub: There are almost no areas left for using skylights, but yes, that was the major change I did when I changed to CS:GO. The areas with interior lightning will be the bombsite A (server room) and the offices on that side of the map.
Bombsite B will recieve some skylights, too, if it looks good. The map does not have many more rooms anyway, I am almost done adding skylights.
The "colour pop" I can hopefully even further do with colour correction later. The lightning in Source just has its limitation compared to ME, and I am not sure if some things they did in ME would look good in Source. I found it looks most "Medgy" to use sunlight - compare to the Burfield office, of which the atrium was largely inspired.

I know I did not change much compared to the last screens, but I still want to present this to you.
I am quite happy with the design of the left wall now. Of course there needs more detail to be added, like props in the offices, and like small stuff like a few trash cans, security cameras, plants, and so on, but I think the general design is finished now:

when i was playing, i kept thinking i could crouch and enter all of thoes offices with windows like that. will there be more obvious glass there or will it continue to look open like that?

I will use a different glass texture for the areas which are actually meant to be entered. Most likely the glass which blocks of areas will have a thick frosted stripe or a lot of horizontal frosted stripes on it, while the glass in enterable areas will be more clear.

If I recall, Sathor and a few other members were working with Vivi on his Mirrors Edge map.

I preferred it with the orangs wall behind the black writing, I thought it gave the wall more impact.

Well, Vivi was creating a map and I was creating a map (I did an office remake). At the same time, I modelled a lot of props (especially outdoor ac units and stuff), but I went on after Vivi had quite quit working on his map for other projects.
I got tired of CSS and basically stopped working on the project for quite some time, picked it up in late 2011 (?), dropped it again and when I heard of CS:GO I started working on de_investment, since I was again motivated to work with Source.

The result you can see.

@Black_Stormy:

I considered your C&C - better?
By the way guys, Stormy did a totally awesome egg chair for me, it is in this screen, too.

Another screen, I like that wall quite a lot:

@Sathor

Do you have plans to use any other colors aside from orange? While I love the orange, I think the map could use some variation in certain areas. Like maybe for one bombsite you could use a blue color to keep things varied. Just don't mix two colors in a room, obviously.

If I recall, there was one area that had chain link fencing by a stairwell. I think that room would work pretty well with a blue and white contrast.
