IRL Builders tips:
Purple is self explanatory
You need either the red or yellow for structural support. Yellow is obvious, but red would be like a glue laminated beam which looks nice exposed sometimes if you like that wood look (or steel, but doesn't look as nice). It's common for a wall to stick out as part of the support structure (but it would impede your stairs in this case):

P.S. You wouldn't need a glulam as thick as the one in this pic for this application.

I really, really want to avoid pillars. They complete screw up the openness of a map.

I'll see how it looks; I'm shooting for realism but sometimes you have to make sacrifices.

Forgot to mention that the red/yellow is supposed to be either-or from a construction stand point - if you don't wanna have pillars the glulam is the perfect option (or neither *shrugs*)

Got more work done on pipe hell, enough for a compile. Still a lot of work to be done. No color correction, the lighting needs tweaking and I haven't decided on what to do with the ceiling.

that is one clusterfuck of props o.O Looks good compiled, tho. Only crit is the dark lighting.
