How could a list like this be complete without Marty O'Donnell's work? Face it, none of the Halo games would have been anywhere near as good without the music.

Update'd....

Didn't see your post Jigsaw, I'll get on that though.

Also not sure if it counts but the Korean video game composer team soundTeMP for the Ragnarok Online OST, purely because it is one of the coolest bloody soundtracks I've ever heard. The primary composer is Lee Seock-Jin, though Park Soo-Il, Kwon Goo-Hee and Kwak Dong-Il did compose a few songs mainly on the second CD. They've also done music for other games like Arcturus, FlyFF, Seal Online and Granado Espada.

I counted Yoko Kanno's work on Ragnarok 2, so I would probably see it fitting to discuss its predecessor.

Damn, haven't kept enough tabs on this thread, there's a lot I need to do, I'll get crackin' tomorrow.

If anyone sees me tomorrow on interlopers chat, smack me with a reminder if I haven't yet edited this post!

Hans Zimmer did some fantastic work for MW2, while Stephen Barton handled COD4.

Both very emotive, powerful, driving and intricate soundtracks; unlike the game I suppose.

Rom di Prisco

One that I really think fits into this list.

Kenji Yamamoto

I can't believe you forgot about Kenji! :(

He (with the assistance of Kouichi Kyuma) composed the soundtracks for all the Metroid games except for the original. He's done several other titles.
