Phoneme + Vista/7

As everyone knows, the auto extraction feature of the phoneme editor is broken (on Vista/7).

So, what is the best way to get it done anyway, without having to waste too much time?

OK, but could someone with experience tell me, how time-consuming it is to do it manually?

Use Virtual PC, install XP, and run it in there? Dunno if it'll work. Could always do a dual boot. :S

That's quite an undertaking. It's not exactly... easy... to do

Well, I don't want to spend money into an OS, for just having a workaround for one single broken tool! :(

But thanks anyway for the advice.

Wasn't there a tool someone made that was posted here a little while back that was a basic phoneme applier?

I don't remember who from though...

This should work on Windows 7 and Vista.

http://steamreview.org/external/vdc/pho ... api5.4.zip

To install, extract the contents of the zip file to
<SDK>\bin\phonemeextractors\. KEEP A BACKUP HANDY, as every time you run the SDK Launcher, or in the case of L4D1/2 receive an update, the custom DLL will be replaced with Valve's original and you'll have to put it back in place manually.

Thank you very much!

By the way: Do I still need to install a speech SDK or anything like that to get it work?

Edit: You don't need to install anything extra for being able to use it!

You're probably thinking of my Phoneme Editor. Although I assume it's useless now that there's an apparent fix for Faceposer. Oh well, twas a fun project nonetheless.
