I can probably count on my fingers the number of UI bits which need overhauls, not to say it isn't much work, but after it's done, you won't need that skillset for a while. Skilled artists are not difficult to find, but they expect to be paid. You'll need them for like a month to fix revelation's UI, it will be worth the money.

PS. How do you pay rent or afford food if you don't get paid?

A UI Artist is one of the main things we are looking for right now. We are going to try to figure something out. Maybe a little up front then more later but I can't say exactly. I don't control the money area.

The disdain people have for the project/team seems to stem from the fact you're reselling a poorly re-skinned L4D; with all the good bits removed. As a free mod I'm certain it would of gathered a fan base and your 'learning experience' would have benefited the fledgling company. It certainly didn't hurt the killing floor or day-z. For me personally it wasn't the product you made but the business decisions surrounding it that cause the most offence. If you're going to make PC games you have to understand the PC gaming community. Steams store is currently NOT associated with kick-starteresque unfinished products, and most (myself included) just see revelations as a cheap money grab aimed at gaming noobs, and desperate l4d fans.
With a release surrounded with such bad game design and marketing decisions I honestly don't see how you can repair the project or the name of your studio.
But I am very interested in how the project came into being, perhaps It was developed by a group of starving juvenile African kids and we will all eat our words.... or perhaps not.
