Seriously, I have been trying Blender, even following some very good and extensive tutorials on YouTube by a Blender community ... but I just couldn't get into it.
Perhaps because I am so used to using 3ds max that it is double hard, since you just want to do the stuff exactly like in the application you are used to ...

This is true, I also tried 3ds max a little while ago, following tutorials and such, but I went racing back to blender, tail between legs. I'm sure if I gave it a really good shot I could make the switch to another program, but it would take months to get back to a decent standard of modelling and I have no need for it, so why bother.
