It will be for close up. Likely I will break up the brush into parts to add depth beyond just a normal map. Though i may even go in and take the handles out and make them separate as well.

Pretty good, I played the map beta, and I think it will fit in fine.

yeah those handles did look a bit wonky, like they were slapped on there.

I just threw this lil guy together today... Source stuff from cg textures.

I am working on a detailed normal map right now. Since the simple nvidia plugin does not have the detail i want i am using multiple layers of normal maps adding more detail with each layer starting with the rough height differences...

The paneling looks good, but the wallpaper looks a little too perfect, but who knows, might as well get it in-game and see.

Well I would normally use decals to mess up the wallpaper to keep it from looking too obvious when tiling. I will be taking a look at it in game when i get home...

Why is the wallpaper not top/bottom aligned? Looks odd to me. Good work though!

Wait you mean centered left to right or centered top to bottom?

Though now that I look at it, it needs seems where the paper would be done in strips...

Mayhem, I can't help but suggest that you custom paint a heightmap instead of layering normal maps (in this case); you'll get a much better result. Here's a quick 5-minute attempt (click to enlarge) vs layering the normals.

Yes, you'll get loads more control if you paint a heightmap and import that into crazybump to play with.

Quick edited in Photoshop to show u what i mean. Heightmap is like "ssbump" in source?
