But i mean just edit it, play with it, find out what things do. velocities and random scales etc. And you can get some very cool effects :)

Yea, Your still awesome....
But when I get a project worth setting particles up for I'll go grab that nice tut here on Interlopers and get started.

You have any hints on how I would go about with movie style sparks though?
Like the cheezy kind where it like shoots through the air like its a sparkler on a wire (Which it probably is.)

Had a pain in the ass time figuring out a spark, I assume the spark ent is just emitting a particle right? :smt039

Yeah dude, Do you want me to send you a spark.pcf? I'll make you one and hook you up. But the spark ent is actually using a C++ coded version. although you CAN use a .pcf file. But you couldn't change the size and flags etc like the C++ one. But you mean like..

Except flying through the air? :P

looks great, man :O I used to mod DoD:S particles with a friend, I got the smoke grenades to linger and collide with brushes, so it'd flow thru doorways and fill up rooms instead of clipping :D

And lingering, semi-transparent smoke makes for a bad-ass hazy look

V2 of my explosions <3

But yeah, I'll make you a Spark PCF :), I'll make one stationary, and the other flying through the air sparking.

Jang, those particles are pretty expensive. I'd recommend removing a large amount of that smoke to stop overdraw, and maybe adding a t least a refract effect for the explosions blast effect.

Also I'd consider lowering the alpha of the smoke trails overall, maybe even the original smoke.

Otherwise it looks pretty good!

Yep, quite a bit of smoke was removed! And i did mess with the alpha, its like 128. Some people have tested these particles, and said that its not too much of an fps impact. And that was with the big ones. So these are even better optimized. So i hope its good :D
