my (belated) 10cents on the issue:

who cares? In the end, what matters is how the mod looks, feels and plays when it's released. Way too much fucking drama over a press release - symptomatic of a general taking-themselves-too-seriously demonstrated by much of the modding community right now.

Who gives a fuck if they photoshopped a hud to meet a dealine? ok, maybe not best practice, but if it's a fair representation of the final product, then people cant complain they've been duped or anything. It's not like people have a right to get angry about it anyway, they aint paying for this. Anyone who discards or rejects ND because of this needs their brain rewired. Less drama, more modding please.

One question for all those who boo and hiss at ND for photoshoping in the HUD.

If a Mag asked you for a picture of your latest map, and i wasnt textured, but you had concept art that looked exacaly how the map will look lieing around what would you do, send pics of the dev textured map? or the ones that actual represent what you will have? i think this who thing has gon really to far.

i dont blame them for doing it, yeah, it is okay to leave the dev textures in for media releases on your site, but do you seiously want those in printed work? this is an ad for the game that will be not a game that is.

If this seriously bothers you then you should stop playing most your games, it is a common practice to do stuff like this in the industry. Even if this isnt a for pay game, do you really want to see the test versions and be turned off cause it isnt all shinny or would you rather see something good that is what they are aiming for.

Publicity with incomplete stuff can turn people off, especialy when they think thats what the finished product will be like. you will never see an unpolished add for halo 3. even if thats not whatthe game looks like now.

BTW, i only heard of this mod this morning.
