Isn't the heavy the same thing, only slower?

Heavy has more health, the minigun which deals much higher DPS and greater range.

I hate heavy spam.

You can't do anything against 5 heavy-medics pushing carts. :( (going demo usually helps temporarily, although it ends up in me running around with a bottle chasing medics wielding ubersaws.)

It's like the only interesting thing about the Pyro is his character and his flare gun. Some other classes might need some balancing as well.

Try to "really" play pyro next time.

Oh. The only thing annoying about that technique is that you often get killed in afterburn. I really wish the afterburn damage would scale according to your classes max HP. :\

I used to play as the pyro a lot, but once the spy/sniper update came out I realized how shitty the pyro's class was. The pyro was at the top of my stats list for most points in one life (40) and was the most played out of all the other classes. I got a lot of my kills using the flamethrower/axtinguisher combo, but most of them were afterburn kills. I used the flare gun for suppressing fire to keep snipers from camping a lot. I reset my stats after the spy/sniper update and started playing the spy and sniper way more often. I rarely use the pyro; I only use it when my team refuses to spy check, which isn't often. I think the Scout, Spy, Sniper, and Engineer are my top-played classes. My most points is 27 as the Engineer, then the sniper, then the spy.

The Heavy is huge, slow, and extremely prone to head shots and back stabs. He has more range and a lot of health and does more damage, but from my experience he's a whole lot easier to avoid than a pyro. He may have a long-range weapon, but you can outrun him easily. The Scout can hardly outrun a Pyro since the Pyro is a relatively fast runner with a long flame spewing out to boot, so he usually ends up just burning the Scout's ass anyway. I don't like the Heavy either, but he's not nearly as much of a joke as the Pyro unless he has 2 other Heavies and some medics beside him.

The pyro's only real weakness is explosives. Soldiers usually take care of them but I guess it's unfortunate for me since I don't like being a Soldier since they're really slow.

I'm really excited about all the new maps, KotH, and hats (I still won't get any, but whatever). However, I am quite disappointed about some of the gameplay changes.

The biggest one is that an engie can knock off a sapper on an entrance by hitting the exit. One of my favorite tactics as spy, if the enemy has an unbeatable forward base, would be to go take out the teleport entrances. It stops the flow of new fighters for a few minutes and allows the team to break through the defenses. With the update, it will be nearly impossible to take out a teleport in this sort of situation because one would have to continuously place sappers for 10 seconds or so- plenty of time for the recently spawned enemies to kill you and render your efforts useless.

The other major one is that the Sandman can no longer stop ubercharges. It makes ubers even more powerful, and the Sandman even more useless. This was the only reason I would occasionally switch to the Sandman, but now I don't think I'll be using it the same way.

Hopefully these problems won't be as severe as I think they are, or that Valve will revert it back to normal with the next update.
