Natural Selection 2 Update - Armoury & Skulk

Over at Unknown Worlds they've posted a few peeks at some of the new NS2 content, namely the Skulk and Armoury:

He's everyone's favorite wall-hugging murderer and he's looking more handsome than ever. As most of you know, the Skulk is the default character class and main element of the alien fighting force. He is fast, able to hide and ambush and has a powerful melee attack. But with no ranged attacks and without a lot of health (although he's a bit tougher than in NS1), being effective as a Skulk is all about knowing when and how to attack and being skilled enough to get close to the target. Pervasive vent and ducts systems help him choose when and where to fight and also provide a quick escape.

this game looks amazing. Does anyone know the systme requirements for this game?

^edit i was thinking of when this game was a mod for half life.

I think it's too early for any real info on requirements.


Also I think NS2 is a full-fledged game now. They made their own engine and everything.

Yeah, and their engine, based on what I've seen, kicks the crap out of source xD

yeah i just noticed that their texture format is .psd nice now i don't have to find programs and plugins to make textures

Oh fuck, really? God I don't even want to know what the file sizes will be. Very sly of them though....

I for one support this game fully, really excited to see how the gameplay will turn out. I had fears with this custom engine they were doing but it looks like they are on the right track. :smt023

Well, to be honest, I found it a relief. I was worried because I think the source engines major flaw is that anything beyond a FPS mod really strains the engine, and moving to their own engine will allow them to optimize the RTS part of a game to work well with the FPS version of it.
