Thanks, dudes!

I think more of us are trying to talk some sense into people who have overblown opinions on the matter.

And there's not really much to say on the subject of Xbox DLC besides "HOLY SHIT THAT'S AWESOME" and it's already been said :D

What's frustrating is that when sites like interlopers, or projects like ducttape ask for financial assistance, it usually falls on deaf ears. Usefulness is less valuable than media readiness.

I've learned from sites like fpsbanana and facepunch that you can make terrible work though if it's clever/funny and more effort is put into marketing it than making it, it becomes popular and you become well known.

Indeed, as you said; marketing is essential.

I would donate money to both ducttape and interlopers if I weren't a student

I am astonished at how spectacularly some of you missed the point.

Sweet! Another 'No Mercy' themed inner city campaign! I just can't get enough of subparly paced maps in the same exact themed locals!

Maybe Gabe doesn't care because this campaign looks generic and the mapping isn't that good or natural looking?

Which is why I plan to make a spray that promotes my new death match Arena map (which is actually pretty damn good) and play gun game at least an hour everyday, hoping from server to server, spraying the shit out of it and talking to admins to get it on rotation.

How is it a joke if he's really flying over there. I said so above D: http://flygabenewell.blogspot.com/2009/09/just-waiting-on-gabe-and-eriks.html

So should every custom campaign have an original setting? Just because something had been done before doesn't mean it can't be done differently or even better. Unless you personally are willing to create an entire new set of textures, props, and zombie models, I think making city maps is just fine.

What I'm saying is: what Gabe said was a joke. He didn't refuse to look at the map just because it apparently sucks, like AcapulcoGold20 suggested. In fact, Gabe didn't refuse at all, since they really are going to take a look at it. How is there a conflict here?

Gabe Newell and Erik Johnson fly over to Brisbane and sit down to have a look at Joe's campaign.

Joe: "So, Mr. Newell, what do you think? Pretty cool campaign, huh?"

Gabe: "......eh."

Joe: "Will you lift your boycott and promote my maps on Steam's next update?"

Erik glances at Gabe, who shakes his head.

Erik: "No."

Gabe to Erik: "We should go visit that guy who's making Yama."

Joe ragequits and kicks Gabe and Erik out of his house...

and Gabe and Erik go to visit Yahtzee for the tell-all Episode 3 interview. :)

Yahtzee: "What happened to Barney?"

Erik glances at Gabe, who shakes his head.

Erik: "No, I can't answer that."

Yahtzee: "OH, COME OFF IT!!"
