ModDB 2009 Mod Of The Year Nominations Have Begun

Postby ad_hominem on Mon Dec 21, 2009 3:37 pm

ModDB, the central hub for all things mod-based, has announced its annual Mod Of The Year Awards and is now taking nominations for any mod. To vote for your favourite mod, all you have to do is visit the mod's profile on ModDB and click the 'Vote For Mod' button on the page. You have until 5th January to get your nominations in, before the next phase of voting begins.

Picking a winner from 6,100 mods and 740 indie games all of which are built on different game engines, platforms, genres and themes is no easy feat. We know everyones tastes differ and we can only recognize the efforts of so many. So if you want your favorite to win remember EVERY VOTE COUNTS (last years results were incredibly tight).

You can read more about the awards on the ModDB page.

Vote: Shameless Jailbreak: Source plug!

Also, we're running a competition right now where you can win a game if you make up a Jailbreak related Haiku and post it on ModDB here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/jailbreak/news/jailbreak-christmas-giveaway

I quite literally, have no shame.

i really hope Research and Development takes something home because it's a feat of Source engine design. Did the designer get hired by Valve yet?

Generally a mod team has to release something other than youtube videos and twitter updates to win this contest. Every other previous winner had playable betas if not full releases.

Oh yeah, they have 10 days to keep good on their promise.

...

...

Let this not be misconstrued as me bashing BMS, every media update has me as excited as a school girl, just being honest about what they'd need to do to win this though.

If they had a Dec 25th release for BMS I can guarantee they'd win this contest with.... little to no contest.
It's quite simple really. I want to be a professional level designer. I want this to be my job.
