That's pretty pathetic, I have been unsure about nd not really sure about if it would be able to live up to the hype it was generating, this certainly tips the scale to the negative side. I heard davel was big on media and not on actual content rumors, but I guess they are true.

Well guys, I do agree with everyone here about the over-done advertising of ND as I work for the mod as an Animator, and for that..the only one right now.

Simply as it can be said by me or anyone of the 'development' team. Not the PR department,ect..

We are all working hard to make a solid mod. Being honest as it is, DaveL is just a person in the background that only observes the situation of what we do on the development team. Being able to read everyones rants, and anger and anti-loving to ND makes me feel less welcomed in this community for making all the efforts possible to ensure my part is to make the mod look as it can be expected.

Whatever you guys wish to think over our mod. Just consider the fact that we the 'devs' wish for positive reinforcement and enjoyment of 'our work' not 'DaveL's' to reflect the overall outcome of what this mod turns into. Just consider it that we have industry background experience, and still are working in the industry. Acknowledge whats there to be mentioned, not what DaveL does.

Its just stupid really. For a mod most people see what they see, smoke & mirrors are not often used like in commercial games.

Now when people see the ND shots on the site and magazine they think "wow, this mod looks like it has such life like action". Which is what the ND team is trying to force onto the public by posing scenes using ragdolls, faking elements, etc.

But its their problem really. They spend so much time into developing the game and hyping up the players using fake media. Then when their years of work gets released as a free product, and people feel that the game isn't quite like in the shots they hyped up to be... the developers are boned.

As said in previous posts here, will just have to hope they can get that end product just right.

I dont honestly care. PR is ok but I think they went overkill with the editing just because its a mod. If it was a game like mario or something, I dont think I would mind too much.

But coving up your developer's info rather than just having the hud fully built is a waste of screenshots. If you plan on release media on a website, atleast make sure the hug images change so you dont get caught, lol.

Valid points, but everything we know is from DaveL and Crispy (the dodgy PR guy, just read HL2.net forums to see how childish that dude is) so we have to interpret that as we see it.

But it's cool that devs like you come over and set the record straight, as you're all no doubt being tarred with the same negative brush.

From what I know DaveL isn't a popular figure anyway, so this is like flies on shit for the critics.

I concur with Killa-Cow. I've seen plenty of non-public content (since I'm mod at the ND forums) and it's not like they've gotten nothing done.

People need to get off their high horses and let ND do it's thing without being immature little dicks and jumping on everything they do.

I would like to remind you all that BM:S has released screenshots with posed models as well... funny how no one attacked them for it.

OT, but what the bleep is BM:S? I cannot, for the life of me guess what BM stands for.

As for the topic at hand, it's an annoyance when people make things out to be further along than they are, but it's not a crime against humanity. ND looks amazing and desite this little snafu, they've been producing amazing quality work that's NOT faked. I don't see any reason to write off this mod in any way or even make such a huge deal about it. Exposing what's false is a good thing, but must the ranting go on? When the mod's released, that's when the verdict can be passed.

I think one thing all of you are missing is that they're not really making it out to be further along than it is - they're just making it out to be more polished than it is.

They have a dev HUD now, not a nice end-user one. I also believe they have those models ingame now as more than static props.
