Brief History lesson:

I have been mapping since i was 13 (2003) first for Counterstrike (2003 - 2004) then to CZ (late 2004) and have been mapping since then on CS:S recently dabbling in texture creation / modeling

If you've been mapping for 3 years, then I expect something better.
Yea, okay, making those displacements, doesn't look to be easy, but the overall look of the screenshots, doesn't impress on me.

In all honesty I would hold off on a portfolio if I were you. Compared to... other... people here you won't impress much. You're supposed to show your best work, and if that's it then I'm quite sure it won't do. At least not for any serious project or mod.

It doesnt matter if its good enough to show off in a portfolio or not, its up to him if he wants to promote it or not. Its not about impressing other people, its just to show off the content you made.

Anyway that map looks ok, displacements looks good but the detail is on the low side. Otherwise it looks nice.

ah dead-inside, you seemed to have missed a key point in my little space thing

i just want to use this space as a place for people with ideas for maps to be able to contact me

We're not talking about quality compared to others here. Hell, I've been mapping for four years, and I couldn't show anything of a higher level.
