Sry for the triple post, but i solved the problem with the seams. Looks like it is being caused by setting the Version in the "Advanced" tab to 7.4. Using 7.2 instead got rid of the seams while any other setting left the problem untouched, so i'm pretty sure it's better to use 7.2. Might be an EP1 problem, perhaps 7.4 works in EP2, no idea.

I'm guessing you're referring to the VTF format. Thanks for sharing, I'll have to check it out :)!

I was getting seams and I fixed them by double-clicking on the main camera and un-checking both options under "Film Settings" ("Natural film response" and "Auto-exposure").

Also, is there any way to do batch renders? Granted the program is fast as hell anyway. Really terrific app. Thanks for the tutorial!

what we need next is a proper hdr sky tut, not like the scattered ones you have to peruse to find. I got it to work eventually, but there are quicker ways.

For those who are interested, i wrote a small Python script which automates the rendering of the cubemap (all six sides).

1. Copy it to [Vue 6]\Python\Scripts
2. Set up your scene properly
3. Execute the script via "Python" (Main Menu) -> Run Python Script
4. Go to bed ^^

Take a look at the file and modify the destination directory if you like. Everything else shouldn't need more tinkering.

When I use your script, scratch, the Python Display Console gives me this error when I check it:

Code: Select all
Loading file E:\Programs\e-on software\Vue 7 xStream\Python\Scripts\render_cubemap.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "E:\Programs\e-on software\Vue 7 xStream\Python\Scripts\render_cubemap.py", line 22, in ?
    SelectByType(VuePython.VUEBasicObject.VOT_Camera)
AttributeError: class VUEBasicObject has no attribute 'VOT_Camera'

It will ask for the file name but after that nothing happens.
