Fixes a few issues including the keypad crosshair.

Research and Development is a mod for HL2 Ep.2, born from a series of test maps as I learned Hammer (hence the title) it's grown into about an hour of puzzle-centric, gun-free gameplay.

Here's what it looks like:

well, I'm stuck at the part with the pad, not because I can't figure out how to do it, but because the buttons I aim at won't press. I've tried everything I could think of to get it to work, but it usually registers a 3 or something.

any help? :( I think I might just ent_fire it if I can't get it working soon.

I just ended up ent_firing it. If you know the combination and just wanna enter it into console then type (each as a seperate console command)

Code: Select all
ent_fire keypadcell# use
ent_fire keypadcell# use
ent_fire keypadcell# use
ent_fire keypadcell# use

But make sure to replace the # with the number of the button you want to press, and you need to do it in order.

That looks absolutely stunning. I've never seen such bold atmosphere, especially that first picture. It looks like a mix of in-game and concept art.

Would you mind at all if I made a thread of this at a CSS community I play in? A lot of the people in the community have Episode Two and will try out any mods I post there. I don't want to make a thread without your permission or anything though. I will understand completely if you don't give me permission.

That was the most fun I've had in a long time. Amazing job, the visuals, the puzzles, everything was fantastic.

OMGOMGOMG I'm going to tell everyone about this!

I only had one problem, and that was with the keypads. Hard as hell to press what you actually want to press.

For the microwave one I had to find different places to stand and remember where to press on the screen, it took nearly 20 minutes to get the damn thing, for the second one I just nocliped :S

Otherwise the slowmotion clips were tacky and fun, I laughed out loud at the strider battle, that was just to awesome.

Wow, so much good. I love actually having to think for once!

Thank you so much for this! :D

EDIT: Once I tried again with the buttons if you stand directly in front and center pressing up against it as long as the center of your screen, where the reticule would be, the buttons will work just fine. But you have to be very accurate or you will miss the ones you want to press.

Shit I enjoyed this over every other mod I've played. Amazing puzzles. It's hard for me to fathom how you came up with these ideas. I remember talking to you in the interlopers group chat about making Mr. Whirly and such; you ended up doing a fantastic job on it.

The last portion of the mod is just god damn hilarious; really surprising too.

I've PM'd you with a couple of bugs I caught in the game. Nothing serious, but I told spas about it since he was a play tester and he said to tell you after I finished the mod.
