Did you join Freedom or Duty? Or did you destroy both of their clans?

Also, did you go to the 100 Rads Bar? Or the Stalker Arena?

Cool stuff. Do you need some special permission to go there?

When I read from that site, I can't help but apply the accent and voice of the bartender from the 100 Rads Bar.

I want to go.

Melvin & Joe, you guys cracked me up! That was a good laugh. And Phott, you're correct, I do hate the newer CoD games, more for how they represent where the industry is going than for being actually bad... Anyway I should complete this comparion some time in the next few weeks and I think you all will enjoy it, I mean what's a better place to post such a comparison than a modding an level design community?

Also, did you pull the "50.000 people used to live here... now it's a ghost town..." quote?

I did find myself thinking "Oh, that's just like COD4" and then realising the comparison really should be the other way round.

I do agree on your point, but just from the perspective of a gamer I have so far enjoyed all the CoD games.

I would be very interested, yes, anything related to Chernobyl is awesome in my books.

That's cool, I've always wanted to go, but I've never had the money or time. It's a very eerie and intriguing place. Just wondering, what happens if you need to take a crap out there? Isn't it like a day thing? And can anyone go out there? I remember it was something like the 7th of every month. I wish I could find that video that showed the images before and after the explosion, they did it perfectly, you could even see a dead plant line up with a growing plant.

Blink, just wondering...

Chernobyl, Pripyat. The stories, the photos, abandoned towns and buildings just have a certain... mystery is it?
Tell me, if you understand, is in the same in real life? Is it like the pictures say, or does it change your view entirely?
Abandoned places like this have a certain attractiveness and i really want to visit it someday, but i dont want it to be a let down. How long is the tour? Can you see a lot of the town, or is it just bus->swimming pool -> fairgrounds->bus?
When you are up to your neck in shit, keep your head up high

I went for pretty much that reason.

It's a full day (2 hour bus ride just to get there) and for most of the trip the guide takes you to each location (Reactor 4, Pripyat sign, red forest) as these have to be driven too.

Once you get to Pripyat it gets more awesome. He led our small group around, giving us info and such but at places like the school, pre-school and hotel we were free to explore the whole building whilst he waited outside. Some of these buildings have several floors so you get quite a sense of exploration.

If I did it again I would probably pay more to spend more than one day in Pripyat (it's massive) but I feel like I did get the experience I went for, rather than some cheesy tourism thing.

It's cool to hear that they let you pimp around on your own while they wait outside, rather then hold hands through it all. This makes me way more interested to go.

I still want to know what happens if your end up being highly-radioactive at the end of the tour, what do they do then? Sadly, there is no such thing as Rad-a-way.

I would like to see Chernobyl one day, abandoned places are quite interesting me.
