Steam Christmas Sale

Postby ad_hominem on Mon Dec 20, 2010 7:36 pm

Despite the fact we've not had a break in Steam sales since the Thanksgiving 'Give & Get' sale, the Steam Christmas sales are always worth keeping a close eye on. From now till 2nd January 2011, there'll be daily deals on many of the games in Steam's extensive catalogue.

To kick us off, they're offering these deals:

Obviously, there will be different deals each day, and there are a slew of publisher catalogues that have big discounts as well. Head over to the Steam website to see what they're offering right now.

With Steams never ending sale I question why anyone would pay full price for a game.
What i do now is find a game i want, wait a few weeks and walla 50% off. :smt039

Any recommendations on SMB?

I bought Super Meat Boy and The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom (it's 49 cents and got excellent reviews).

Is this really front page worthy? I mean... interlopers shouldnt be advertising for steam.. unless I'm misstaken, for the last months it feels like it is always about steam sales rather than mods/maps/whatever related to valve games.....????

I look at interlopers front page.... then i look at worldofleveldesign frontpage and tbh, If I was a new mapper, I know where I would go.. Much more on topic than these useless posts about sales.

my 2 cents

This is a community too. I think the Valve sale is very newsworthy.

This news article wasn't about advertising for Steam. Rather, it was to notify those in the community who might not know that they can get games for significantly cheaper over the next few weeks.

If you want to see more news on mods and maps on the front page, please feel free to submit news in the appropriate forum. Most of the people who post news on the site simply don't have time to trawl through ModDB or whatever to find news on released/updated mods. It's not wilful neglect on our part, just a lack of time and resources.
