Looks terrible. Everything is blurry and scaled down for consoles.

Yeah, 2012 release and still using 512 x 512 textures, if not smaller.

I really want to be excited about this - and I know I'll buy it regardless because I'm a ridiculous fanboy, but this is just looking incredibly underwhelming.

Oh hey, I'm moaning about a product designed to be open to the entire market. Go me.

Technical specs people? My god, and I thought the gameplay versus graphics argument was an obvious one.

Of course, unless you'd like to play some more 'PRETTY BUT GENERIC FPS' games.

true true, but in 2011 you expect the best of both worlds.. if I wanted to have crappy graphics I just hop into my time machine and go back to 1999

also, l4d2 had the same shit (no legs for better performance) why should graphics be limited to the crappies platform available... they is something like graphics setting on the PC...

Look at BattleField 3, it has awesome(if not the best) graphics and it doesn't look generic.

Also, you do expect more from Valve. In compassion to Portal 2, this is horrid.

I'm yet to see if B3 will hold up to the hype. The fact it's going 'toe-to-toe' with another game makes me cautious enough. What makes them different? Vehicles? Havok physics? I don't feel like it's going to really push the boundaries, to elevate itself above 'nice graphics bro, shame about the gameplay'.

Maybe I'm wrong and it'll do a Skyrim on me - it'll have both. Until then, I don't judge any game on graphical content. That's like saying an attractive girl is the best kind. Until she turns out to hate your hobbies.

an attractive girl who hates your hobbies is magnificent. Mine keeps me grounded to reality, lest I game and map all day :3

looks great but nows not a time to re-release source with prettier assets. I know bf3 will consume my time. Valve just isn't serious about CS anymore, you can tell because its mainly outsourced.

It's also pretty apparent that after 10 years they still don't understand how and why the game works on a competetive level.

yeah, I'm worried about future competitive Valve titles, they seem to be 'too' nice as well
like.. take the l4d1/2 rage quitting issues.. they are supposed to be the leaders of the industry.. but small indy game devs like LOL can tackle that problem but Valve can't

[SARCASM SELF-TEST COMPLETE] Honestly I am looking forward to this big time. Any time I can see some new version of source, I get goosebumps about what it will mean for the eventual next installment of Half-Life.

I wonder how many times they can delay it this time. I should count how many delays there are.

Delays: 1
