The problem with modeling the panels is that they'd use vertex lighting. It would look ugly compared to lightmapping.

Problem with removing the shadows from the prop properties being the prop now looks fullbright and bland.

Then you probably disabled Self-Shadowing with vertex lighting, you need the other one Disable shadows.

I had the panels modelled originally but like nub said, the lighting looked awful.

Then I say go with fire hoses, light switches, plug sockets, maybe a high tech looking air vent. Fire alarm, sprinkler instead of the conventional ugly one you could make a streamlined dome type shape. If they are smooth and match the colour they will give the corridoor a more 3d look without standing out as "a prop you put there to make it less plain"

I think the lit windows are too bright? What do you think? Constructive Crits please?

The windows are a little bright yeah... But I also think that... I dont know if its sprites youve placed at the yellow signs, but that... looks wrong. A self illuminated texture is more than enough here :) Apart from those things, it looks good

Rough and ready art test for the map. Loads of placeholder textures, crap and whatnot.
Haven't had any updates for a while because of GF leaving London and crunch time at work but, going to kick this back into gear again.

Oskmos: That's pretty much what a misty winter morning on snowy small roads looks like. Good atmosphere and texture work. Hope you develop it.

Hollow: I dont know anything about the context and how much custom assets etc you have. But I think the building looks solid. The Cooling boxes-prop is a nice detail and containers look good. I also like the composition, maybe you could add something in the foreground though; like a detail or a window on the small building to the right. What I don't like is your transparent-ish snow-texture on the bottom right.

@Hollow

Make sure to displace that snow so it's not completely flat. I would also look in to making the walls of the drainage ditch (?) and the bottom parts of the brick walls to the factory so they have more snow on them so it blends better. A simple texture modification could achieve this no problem. I can't really tell, but it looks like you already have some snow in the texture. You could also try some decals, if you have any suitable ones available. I imagine there aren't any good snow decals lying around though.
