Yes. The below shot was taken moments after. ^^

There's also very nice, shootable watermelons too.

This is as close to the chickens as I could get with noclip to see the talons, as they try avidly to flee when you approach them, squawking as you get close. ^^

In regards to the hostage thing, no they don't but up close their blindfold is already lifted a little so they can see with one eye. They seem to run faster too. I also shot them, and boy do they lose a lot of blood...

I feel that there needs to be more variation with the time of day/sky. It's all very bright blue skies and bloomy. I want to see how sexy the new lighting is for a dusk/sunrise setting :)

Consoles don't have enough RAM.

Anyways, excluding the low texture resolution, the maps look good.

As the graphical options are limited ATM (You have vsync, AA, Ansiotropic and resolution stuff) I can't tell whether my texture levels have been auto set low... In Source they used to get set to medium when I could run 'very high' happily.

Also, do any other Source games run DirectX 10? I just found a block in the dxsupport.cfg - ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\bin -for the DirectX version '100', as well as 90/95/98 etc. Hmm?

There's also an empty 'linux32' folder which I've never seen before in a source game lol.

There's also new console commands, not listed on the VDC, that involve tessellation? Namely mat_tessellation_accgeometrytangents
mat_tessellation_cornertangents
mat_tessellation_update_buffers
mat_tessellation_level

All that stuff was present in Portal 2 as well.

indeed.

Plus it seems like valve codes in a lot more advanced features, but doesn't release them for whatever reason.

Parallax displacement mapping has been in the shaders for close to 100 years.

Hmmm right. Never owned Portal 2. Why aren't these things on the VDC? They usually have that sort of stuff pretty quick; people just dump all the known console commands on there for example.

Even weirder, as spence found out, applying mat_fullbright 1 in a custom CSGO map looks like this.

Image

So it shows dynamic shadows in fullbright mode, but in normal mode only shows shadows on viewmodels and props? what de crap.

Try fullbright 2 or 3 or 4 or 5, see if there's any new shiny modes lololol.
